Hello to all!

I am very sorry for not posting in a few days…. we have been quite busy!

 Here is a recap:

 I am happy to say that our laundry room is painted, and the border is hung. Next, we are hanging up the shelves, and doing the floor. Yippee!

Yesterday was Jessa’s B’day. She is a very happy little 10 year old! I will try to post some pictures in a few days when things have calmed down a little.

 I was invited to contribute to a new blog just for young ladies:

That is all for now!

Still Raining…..

It is still raining a nice, calm, and very peaceful rain. It is so very relaxing to listen and watch……. what a blessing God has given us with rain!!!

We have been busy in our laundry room the last couple of days….. and I’m happy to say the first coat of primer is on!

I probably should run,
Have a very peaceful day!

Work On Monday:

Today we are beginning the renovations on our laundry room. We are getting ready for a new washing machine and dryer to be put in there on Monday of next week.

We had the Whirlpool Duet system, thinking it would be good for our large family, especially because it boasted of “conquering sixteen pairs of blue jeans”. Well, let me just say, unless you want to replace your washer in a year, I would not recommend this….. at all. :(

So, we will be repairing the water damage and preparing for our new, standard washer and dryer next week. I will probably be scarce this week, but I will share a finished picture when we are done! :)

Tomorrow is Jacob’s birthday, so hopefully I will be able to post some pics of that as well.

Wishing you a happy and productive week,

Thoughts on Thursday…

Good afternoon!

Today has been a pretty good day. We have finished school and have gotten some laundry done.

I finished “So Much More” again this morning. If I could recommend one book on virtuous womanhood, this would definetely be the one. It is such a good book…… I have read it over and over again! : ) If you haven’t figured it out by now, I love reading! In my sidebar, I have a section called “I Recommend” and I have listed all my recommended books in one of the subcategories. : ) All that to say, I am adding a new recommended Book/CD:

“Isaiah 53 and Psalm 139” from Thy Word Creations . They are basically scripture passages sung to music. This particular set comes with the CD, and the book with the Bible passages and the sheet music for piano and guitar! These are very calming….. we have been playing them during school and chore time here. I have been playing the sheet music over and over again. It makes for very easy scripture memorization!

You can purchase it here

Psalm 62

“For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.
My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault a man?
Would all of you throw him down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

They fully intend to topple him
from his lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.

He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God [a] ;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

Lowborn men are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie;
if weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.

Do not trust in extortion
or take pride in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.

One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,

and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Surely you will reward each person
according to what he has done.”

I am going to help Jessa bake cookies! Have a very blessed day!

Tuesday Ramblings…

Good Morning! I hope that this has been a wonderful day for you so far!

This has been a good day for us. I am holding a certain little Mr. Man in my lap. Every few minutes he looks up and smiles from ear to ear, not to mention the cute little dimples on his chin and cheek. : ) He is such a cutie….. I don’t know what we do without him!

Little Emma’s birthday is on Saturday. She will be a sweet little 2 year old! She is playing with her little people across the room from me, singing her sweet little songs.

I love being in a large family.

On another note, I made my first headband yesterday. Here is a picture:

And, I saw this fellow out my window today:

I was not expecting to see that when I opened my blinds!

Let’s see…… today I am working on crocheting some dishcloths, writing to a friend of mine, finishing dinner (we are having roast, I will post the recipe soon), and some various knitting projects to finish. We have already done school, laundry and the dishes. We have some company coming tonight, so we will be cleaning the house this afternoon.

Little Jon is starting to fuss, so I will close with this Bible chapter:

Proverbs 2

Moral Benefits of Wisdom

“1 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding,

3 and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,

4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,

5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the LORD gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

7 He holds victory in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.

9 Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.

10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.

12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,

13 who leave the straight paths
to walk in dark ways,

14 who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,

15 whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways.

16 It will save you also from the adulteress,
from the wayward wife with her seductive words,

17 who has left the partner of her youth
and ignored the covenant she made before God. [a]

18 For her house leads down to death
and her paths to the spirits of the dead.

19 None who go to her return
or attain the paths of life.

20 Thus you will walk in the ways of good men
and keep to the paths of the righteous.

21 For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;

22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it.”

Show and Tell Friday

This is my very first time to participate in “Show and Tell Friday” at There is No Place Like Home.

I would like to share a crocheted collar of my Great-Great-Grandmother’s. Here is a picture:

She crocheted several so that she could fancy up her dresses. Here is a close-up of the detail:
